This isn't catering. It's the restaurant, relocated.

For most of my career, the answer to "can you cook this at our house?" was no. The Aboyer experience is the food, yes — but it's also the rhythm of a kitchen that's been running since five o'clock, a team that knows how each course should arrive, and the standard that comes from doing this every night for the room downtown.

What we've built with At Your Event is a way to bring that whole thing to you — not a watered-down version of it, and not a buffet line in a chafing dish. The same kitchen. The same team. The same dinner. Your dining room.

I'm there for every event personally. If I can't be there, it doesn't get booked. That's the only way the offer works.

Every event is led personally by Chef Michael Lachowicz. Not a representative. Not a sous chef. If he can't be there, the date doesn't get booked.

A menu built for you.
No catalogs. No standardized packages. Each menu is composed around your guests, your preferences, and what's at its peak in the market that week.

Restaurant-quality service.
Our service team is the same team you'd meet at Aboyer. Each course is plated and served as it would be in the dining room.

Restaurant-quality sourcing.
The same purveyors. The same proteins. The same produce. Nothing is downgraded for off-site service. Ever.

Beverages are yours.
In nearly every event we cook, the wine and spirits come from you. We're glad to recommend pairings or coordinate glassware and tableware — but the offer is the food and the service. The cellar is your call.

We arrive ahead of your guests, prepared. We leave your kitchen as we found it. You host. We handle the rest of it.

An At Your Event is an investment in an evening that happens once. The figures below are starting rates — every event is quoted individually after the menu is built.

[ NOTE ] Beverages are provided by the host. Special ingredients and gratuity are quoted separately. A retainer secures your date. Full pricing is confirmed once the menu is built — usually within forty-eight hours of our first conversation.

Yes. That's the central premise. He is in your kitchen — not a stand-in. If a date conflicts with his ability to be there, that date simply isn't offered.
Winnetka and the North Shore primarily. Greater Chicago by arrangement. If your event is well outside that range, ask — we'll let you know honestly.
Your kitchen, a working oven and cooktop, your table setup — linens, dishware, glassware — and the beverages. We bring the food, our equipment, and the team. We're glad to make wine recommendations or coordinate rentals if you'd like.
As early as you can. Four to six weeks is comfortable. Holiday and end-of-year dates fill earliest — for those, we recommend confirming by September.
Always. The menu is built for your guests — share what you need when we talk and Chef Michael designs around it.
Yes. For hosts who'd rather plate and serve themselves, we offer a scaled-back option. The food is the same. Mention it when you inquire and we'll send pricing for that version.
